🎬 [Movie Review] TRON: Ares — A Brief Review_ Stunning Visuals and Reflections on the Age of AI, Poster Giveaway (No Spoilers)

I watched “TRON: Ares,” which was released on October 8.

Among the movies coming out later this year—
“One Battle After Another,” “Zootopia 2,” and “Avatar: The Seed of Fire”
this was one I absolutely wanted to see.

The biggest reason I was drawn to this film was because of its poster and trailer.

Brilliant and intense crimson neon lights flood the screen,
the trailer promises thrilling action,
and that stunning bike—reminiscent of Akira and The Dark Knight
sealed the deal for me.
Even if it’s a wild ride, I’m all in. 🎴🎴🎴

🍿 <Review>

This post contains no spoilers about the film.
I’ll be writing another one with spoilers soon —
because, trust me, there’s a lot I want to talk about. 😆

To put it simply —
it was one of those “I’m so glad I watched it!” kind of films. 🎬

If you’ve seen a lot of movies about SF, AI, or machines,
it might feel a bit predictable.
You may even find yourself reminded of other films at certain moments.

As someone who’s never been a big fan of this genre,
I went in with low expectations.
But the storyline, world-building, and smart settings that kept things engaging —
combined with the jaw-dropping VFX
made it such an enjoyable and thought-provoking experience.

And I didn’t know this before watching,
but TRON” is actually a series.

The first TRON movie came out in 1982
it didn’t do well at the time (people say it was ahead of its era).

The second was released in 2010,
and it barely managed to break even.

And now, the third film — “TRON: Ares” (2025)
has finally arrived. ⚡️

If you’ve seen the previous films,
you’ll probably enjoy spotting the callbacks, cameos,
and subtle nods to the earlier stories.
But even if you’re like me — someone completely new to the TRON universe —
you’ll still find it engaging and easy to follow.

🎁 <Goods>

Before watching a movie,
I always check what theater-exclusive goods are available.
If I’m going to see the film anyway,
why not grab some cool freebies too? 😆

Here’s a quick look at the current promotions from the three major cinema chains.
You can get these goods after watching the movie,
but since most of them are first-come, first-served,
they may run out fast!

The goods often change week by week,
so think of this list as the Week 1 event (10/8–10/14) edition.

🎬 CGVSpecial Theater Poster

I watched it at CGV Deungchon, in SCREENX format.
The poster is absolutely gorgeous, isn’t it?
(The camera just can’t do it justice—)

I hope you get a chance to watch it at a nearby theater and grab the goodies too!
Have a great time at the movies—! 🎬

I’ll be back soon with another post —
a spoiler-filled review of Tron: Ares along with my personal thoughts 🙂
